
Uganda through partnership between the Embassy of Ireland and Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities and its parastatals; Uganda Tourism Board and Uganda Wildlife Authority. A week long Greening the Uganda Equator started 13th March until 18th March 2018.
Uganda ‘s equator going green follows other major Landmarks all over the work that go green for this day such as the Great Wall of China, Eiffel Tower and Newry Cathedral and Dublin Airport among others.
St. Patrick’s Day is a global celebration of Irish culture on or around March 17. It particularly remembers St Patrick, one of Ireland’s patron saints, who ministered Christianity in Ireland during the fifth century. St. Patrick’s day celebrations generally involve public parades and festivals, Irish traditional music sessions (céilithe), and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks.
The Irish Community in Uganda will have a couple of events such as Let’s be Irish on 16th March and a St Patrick’s Day Charity Ball on 17th March 2018.
